Bala Brook Christmas Retreat

The Christmas retreat this year is hosted by Josie Cowgill and Gemma Conidis with Flow Yoga and Nada Yoga (a meditation-like listening practice) sessions run by Joules Yount.

The retreat is a calming and nourishing environment providing respite and space away from the busyness and noise of daily life - it will be held in a meditative atmosphere, mostly in silence and will be centred around sessions on yoga, meditation, cleansing breath work and restorative yoga.
Additional options included in the retreat price are walking on Dartmoor, water colour painting in the beautiful art studio and other creative sessions such as drama games or physical theatre.

The maximum group size is 12 people.
All food is vegetarian whole food, freshly made by our professional cook.

The retreat is for 4 nights. Price is inclusive of accommodation, food and activities.

Room with shared bathroom: £450
Room with en-suite bathroom: £495

or pay £15 to hire these from the centre.

Arrive Sunday December 23rd by 4pm. The first yoga session is at 4.30pm.
Depart Thursday December 27th after lunch.

Sample Daily Schedule
7:00-7:40am – Kriyas (cleansing breathwork)
9:30-10:45 – Nada Yoga (Listening practice – a meditation-like practice)
Tea break
11:00-12:45pm – Flow yoga
Afternoon: Free time, walking on moors, painting in studio, reading
5:00-6:00pm – Restorative yoga
6:00-6:45pm – Nada Yoga
After supper sessions may include: chanting, creative sessions, painting and offerings from the group.

Further Information
QUIETNESS This retreat provides a precious opportunity to find one's quiet place within, detaching from the talkative modes of normal social life. Some days are held in silence.
FITNESS; The retreat programme is suitable for functionally fit people and any level of yogic experience.
NATURE; Dartmoor National Park can show us ways out of the grip of ordinarily busy minds. As we encounter the deep essential stillness in trees, rocks, rivers, wild animals, our attention is guided into the essential stillness within.
WALKS; Walking on the Moor is suitable for people who can manage rough ground but walking on the lanes along the river Dart is also available. Please bring outdoor clothing, wooly hat, stout footwear.
WATER-COLOUR PAINTING; Painting and drawing are available in the beautiful art studio. Gouache, brushes and paper are provided - or you can bring your own.
